Francois Lake Loop

The Bulkley-Nechako area is stunning, and this loop around Francois Lake will take you through some gorgeous BC terrain. The Side Route along Highway 35 runs south of Burns Lake to the Southside (traditional territory of the Cheslatta Carrier Nation, via Ferry) and offers some absolutely stunning views, including Cheslatta Falls. The route to Ootsa Lake will also bring you to Ursa Minor Brewing, a fabulous local brewery.

The Southside is a small community with much to offer in the way of beautiful scenery. Take a ride on the “Southside” and discover the 300+ km circle route around Francois Lake. While you’re at it, try your hand at some incredible fishing. Be aware, the loop does have some gravel along the ride. You’ll land back at Houston and Route 16.
